WOW! My old blog is STILL here!

I can't believe it has been 8 years since I have written anything on this blog!

So many things have happened since my last blog.
David and I have gone on many more motorcycle adventures and continue to enjoy our journey together. We have another granddaughter!!! Ok, little Jolene is now 7 years old! Our Kaydence is a whopping 10 years old and Jayden will be going into middle school this year and is 11 years old.

Our oldest daughter, Courtney and her family now live in Florida.
Our middle child, Megan and her son have recently bought their own home in Creedmoor, NC.
Our youngest & only son, Hunter, got married last year and still reside in Raleigh.

There are so many wonderful things that I could share but I think I will take this opportunity to start fresh. After all, it is 2020 and we are in the middle of a crazy pandemic year!

So look for future posts about what is going on with our family.

Princess Time!

I loved my one on one time with Kaydence!

We got to do all the girlie stuff like playing with dolls - there were stuffed dolls, barbie dolls, baby dolls and princess dolls!

We took the dolls for a walk and she told me what colors all the flowers were along the way. I loved it when she pointed out the first star! Of course, there were stops along the way to hug Oliver, our cat and to say "meow" to a cat looking out the door of someone's house.

Then we baked Easter Cookies!

She wouldn't eat supper but Grandma thought milk and cookies were healthy enough! Plus, what happens at Grandma's stays at Grandma's! We also decorated Grandma's sunroom for Easter.

We also watched "My Little Pony" cartoons just like her mom used to do when she was little!

Kaydence loves to color now! I love this age when they start showing their creativity and the conversations you have when they are distracted are quite interesting.

Kaydence stayed up until 10:30 pm and woke up at 5:00 am. She sleeps in her own bed but I put in our bed and told her she couldn't get up until the sun woke up. So she laid there until 7:00 am.

We made heart-shaped cinnamon rolls for breakfast and had time for pedi's!

She didn't want the soft peach color that I was going to paint her toes - she insisted on hot pink!

Then off to church we went!

I loved spending this time with Kaydence! Experiencing the girlie stuff is so much better the second time around!

Here's to a GREAT 2012!

Thinking back over 2011

Two Harley Trips - Me and David went to Bryson City and James & Dale, David & I went to Waynesville. Highlights were riding Deals Gap, Log Cabins, Mountains sparkling with lightning bugs, Highlands, Cashiers, Gatlinburg, Road to Hot Springs, Waterfalls, Turkeys, and freezing our butts off on the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Fun and Excitement with our two grandchildren, Jayden & Kaydence. Enjoying Sunday afternoons, sleepovers, reading books in the sunroom, beach trips and popsicles by our swimming pool! David built the kids a swingset. Jayden knocked Kaydence down and broke her two front teeth. Discovering Jayden doesn't like fireworks. Kaydence didn't like Christmas Trees and Jayden didn't like Santas but Christmas was fun watching them open all their presents and everyone elses', too. Love all the hugs and smoochy kisses!

Courtney & Jeremy, Megan and Hunter all got new apartments this year!

Courtney began working at the preschool teaching sign language and working as a teacher assistant. So now I get to see Kaydence at work! Her and Jeremy also got a new SUV!!!

Megan graduated from Wake Tech and got a new job as a Dental Assistant! She works hard providing a nice home for her and Jayden!

Hunter is doing well at ECU. He got a Harley this year...a dog named Harley! So now, we have a granddog! We love that Hunter is dating Elisabeth Gough!

David's Hunting Season...well, we won't go there!

All in all 2011 was Heaven - Praying for more love and blessings in 2012!

What joy Jayden has brought to our lives. His little smiles and coo's brighten our day. He has turned our household upside down - there are swings, bouncy seats and toys everywhere. Jayden also controls our house - he can scream like there is no tomorrow and he has the cutest pout face. Of course, none of that is cute at 3 am.
